HONOURS Student

Darshana Kanan

Darshana is a Bachelor of Medical Science / Doctor of Medicine student in her 4th year at UNSW and is conducting her honours research at SWERI and the Ingham Institute. Her research focuses on the relationship of fluid resuscitation with the onset of acute pulmonary oedema and is centred at the Liverpool Hospital Emergency Department. This project aims to correlate the volume of fluids given with B-line changes on lung ultrasound over the following hours, which is the clinical indicator for pulmonary oedema. This data will be used to create predictive models of clinical outcomes to inform future practice in emergency departments.
